Former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra has selected the best Test innings of the decade. He described VVS Laxman’s 96-run innings against South Africa as the best innings of the decade. Laxman played this innings in the second innings of the Durban Test in 2010. Team India defeated South Africa in this match.

Nehra said it was difficult to bat on the bouncy pitch of Durban and after India fell seven wickets in the second innings, Laxman scored 96 runs in partnership with the lower order batsmen. Due to that innings, Team India had a stunning win by 87 runs in that match.

Significantly, in this match played in Durban, India lost seven wickets for 148 runs in the second innings against South Africa. Laxman formed a crucial 70-run partnership with Zaheer Khan. Team India won the match on a bouncy pitch to level 1-1 in the series. Ashish Nehra called Laxman’s innings the best Indian innings of the decade in that match.

Significantly, Laxman was considered to be a wizard of the wrist and on many occasions he did a great job for the Indian team with the lower order.
